About Qiware

Qiware is a non-profit organisation that supports culture and technology for a world of limited resources.

We work on building art and knowledge with teams globally from our base in Shenzhen, China.

Our quarterly publication Scale features original research by well-established thinkers and young creators about the transformations of natural, economical and technological ecosystems. From the micro to the macro, we explore emerging practices and trends that transform the ways we inhabit our planet.

Each January in Shenzhen, our yearly event Cryptology brings together artists, designers, scientists and technologists to experiment and produce new understanding of energy, in the form of art pieces, training session, and in-depth discussions.

Zhuangzi Dreaming of a Butterfly - Lu Zhi (1496–1576) - Public Domain

"Human beings are born of the accumulation of qi. When it accumulates there is life. When it dissipates there is death... There is one qi that connects and pervades everything in the world"
-- Zhuangzi (莊子 • BC~369-286)
